Here is the new branding I completed for Barry Gibson (my Uncle) who has just recently become a Alberta Marriage Commissioner. Barry has been a teacher for 37 years and is retiring this year after a long haul. With his son David getting married this summer, Barry decided to get registered as an Alberta Marriage Commissioner so he could perform their ceremony.
Barry wanted a logo that would connect to couples who are looking for someone to marry them. He wanted to act as a facilitator, someone there to assist couples in their happy day. The perfect thing to do here and there while retired.
sketches:
initial concepts:
I presented 3 initial logo designs for him to choose between. All of them communicated union and marriage in different ways.
colour concepts:
I then prepared 4 colour options for the chosen design concept and he decided to go with the classic navy and red combination, which was definitely my favorite of the options. They are such timeless colours and they suited this logo design perfectly.
I have designed new business cards featuring his logo, and I will share them when they arrive from the printer. If you know anyone in need of a marriage commissioner, I highly recommend my Uncle Barry. He is so friendly and personable, and would truly be the perfect person the marry any couple.
