This spring, I had the opportunity to create a promotional guide for the Tourism department of City of Wetaskiwin. The expectations of this piece were very similar to the branding of their community report. Colour, photo and cheerfulness were essential in the creation of this piece. Because we had already established an extensive colour palette for the City of Wetaskiwin community report, I made use of the palette to keep everything consistent across the city brand. This worked well for this piece because, like the community report, there were strong sections within this guide that needed to be easy to identify.
I created a map grid based on the street layout of the city of Wetaskiwin, to use as a framework for the photos on the cover, and throughout the guide.

Anyone who hasn't visited the City of Wetaskiwin really should take a day trip out to explore. They have an amazing new recreation centre, the Manluk Centre, which has a great indoor pool, complete with waterslide and Board-Rider, which allows you to try surfing inside! As well, they have many great museums that would be exciting for anyone to explore.
